when life gets a little country

The past few weeks it feels like life has taken the lyrics of a country song and sung them loud and proud over the music of our heart.  It’s gotten to the point that it’s become somewhat of a joke.  I just said to Mike the other day if we had a dog, he should be dead, or at least critically injured.

As far as I can see there are two ways to respond to life when the music gets a little complicated.  You can plug your ears and try your best to hum a happier tune, or you can stop and listen long enough to learn to appreciate the harmonies that resolve out of dissonance.

Beautiful melodies, like beautiful lives, are made from both.
