What’s on My Plate | #03

Today’s hack is actually a snack-hack to help curb the munchies while pursuing healthy eating and weight loss.

What's on my Plate | #03

We like to snack in this house, and eliminating everything just wasn’t possible for long-term success. What we could do was switch in some healthier options. Here are five of our favorite snacks, portioned per serving above, with points included below.

———————————————————————————

Pretzel Crisps

11 crisps for 3 points

I usually like to swap my points for larger quantities, but these pretzel crisps are pretty amazing. If you love pretzels and can stop after 11, you’re golden. But get the plain ones, and if you’re going to snack often, buy them at Costco.

———————————————————————————

Skinny Pop

4 cups for 4 points

This popcorn is awesome – slightly addicting even – and you get so much for your points. Win-win.

———————————————————————————

Bamboo Lane Crunchy Rollers

2 rollers for 2 points

These rollers are airy, slightly sweet, and a great value for your points. Think super crunchy Rice Krispy treat.

———————————————————————————

Special K Chocolate Cereal

1-1/4 cups for 5 points

This is the highest point snack on the list, but I save it for the days I’ve been super good and need a sweet-chocolate fix. Mike’s cousin Onnie introduced us to these when we were packing up our house in Southern Illinois, and we haven’t stopped eating them since. I’m just taking smaller bowls now.

———————————————————————————

Trader Joe’s World’s Puffiest White Cheddar (OR Sour Cream and Onion) Corn Puffs

3 cups for 4 points

These are hands down my favorite, and could be the key to why I’ve been so well behaved this time around. I was extremely sad to know I would be saying goodbye to Pirate Booty upon starting WW, but was thrilled to find these are an easy swap to satisfy that cheesy/salty craving – AND they come in a huge bag for under $2.

———————————————————————————

Snack on friends. Nobody said you had to stop :).
