Welcome to the NEW christinetrevino.com!
I’m a bit of a softie for before and after pictures, and with a blog overhaul this big, I just had to include a screenshot of the old space. This is what you’re used to seeing . . .
And this (if you’ve clicked over from your reader/email) is the NEW christinetrevino.com!
I can’t tell you how exciting it is for me to welcome you into this new space. It’s been a goal of mine to switch to WordPress self-hosted for a while, but the fees to hire a designer and my own lack of understanding the back-end of such a switch made me cautious about stepping out on my own.
Call my teacher. Seriously.
Jessica and I are part of a Facebook bloggers group. When I heard she was offering WordPress design classes through her company 4th & Market I knew it would be the perfect fit for me. I know my own way around a photoshop file and just about enough coding to get me into trouble. Serious trouble. With Jessica’s video tutorials and her accessibility and availability to help me along the way, I was able to do it. Not just dream it. Code it. That friends, is nearly miraculous.
So what’s different?
Clearly the design of the site is different, but the actual blog itself has transitioned off the WordPress servers and onto BlueHost servers (which is why email subscribers need to re-subscribe in order to continue receiving posts). Incredibly enough all previous content can still be accessed by using the same URLs (the backend of blogging and web design literally blows my mind).
I’ve also made some serious changes to the navigational side of the blog, thanks to tips from Ruth Soukup’s book. Categories have be re-organized and reassigned and are now clickable by feed in the sidebar. The primary navigation bar showcases the best content on christinetrevino.com and most popular posts in what I hope is a more visually and graphically appealing way.
New dramas
During my blogging interim I was able to upload two entire services to the Church Drama tab. The Stories monologues for Christmas, and the Good Friday Service for Good Friday/Easter services (obviously) are now available for use or pinning for next year!
I cannot say thank you enough for your readership and your support of this site. I’m so excited to share the new year with you!
