Showcasing your Child’s Creativity (& Easy Christmas Banner) | When Decorating for Christmas
You are joining us on day four of the When Decorating for Christmas series. Click HERE to view Childproofing the Tree, HERE to view Family Tradition, and HERE to view Sharing Faith.
An easy way to get small children excited about decorating for Christmas is by encouraging their creativity through a simple Christmas craft that once assembled can be displayed for the Christmas season. It’s amazing what showcasing your child’s creativity can do for them.
Elijah and I made a super simple sparkly Christmas tree banner that is hanging between our new IKEA bookshelves. He has been so proud to show his creation off to everyone who stops by the house. I think it helped foster excitement for the rest of our Christmas decorating too :).
You can make one with your little one too for less than $5.
Supplies
2 pkgs – 5 count sparkly foam Christmas trees (from the Target $1 bin)
2 pkgs – sparkly foam assorted Christmas stickers (from the Target $1 bin)
Hole Punch
String
Directions
- Open packages and let your child place stickers on glitter trees
(I divided the contents of both sticker packages between all 10 trees) - Punch a hole in the top of each tree and tie them together with string
- Hang and enjoy!
