Sesame Street Birthday Party

My little shamrock turned two a few weeks ago, and although we don’t typically do a big friend/family bash for this age, making a cake for the four of us just didn’t seem like enough. I decorated on the cheap (as in I spent nothing at all!) for Sesame Street with stuff we already had around the house and was pleasantly surprised by the finished product.

Wish I could have bottled up the sparkle in Noah’s eyes when he walked into the living room to see that we had made a big deal for him. He made a point to tell everyone who stopped by that he’s two now, and that all of this decorating was for him :).

Happy Birthday Character Banner: Designed by me with help from Muppet Wiki
Character Display: Various Sesame toys we’ve accumulated on Noah’s behalf

Picture 2I sized the birthday banner the same as the Superhero banner I made for Elijah’s party.  We’ve since hung it over Noah’s bed, and the child can name all seventeen characters! Yes I am a proud momma!

Picture 4I can take absolutely no credit for this amazing cupcake creation.  Auntie Jessie has become the resident cake maker and decorator for the family and she did a FABULOUS job for Noah’s party.  Chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and the Sesame Street sign.  Everyone was happy.

Picture 5We had a few extra cupcakes and some different colored frosting, so Auntie made character cupcakes for the boys. There also was an amazing Kermit the Frog, which I dropped on the floor.  So. So. Sad.

My contribution to the party desserts were the chocolate covered Oreos decorated with Noah’s favorite topping (mini-M&Ms) improvised from the directions in this post.

Picture 6Doesn’t take much to make this little one happy.  Love him to pieces :).
