Meet Rebecca & Sarah
Today’s guests are the fabulous Rebecca Barth and Sarah Harmony-Powell – wives, moms, and girlfriends with an incredible story of friendship lost and found. They blog, they write, they speak, they’re on the radio, and they’re really, really fun. Join me in welcoming them to week three of the Everyday Author series.

And gossip overheard through a baby monitor changed their lives…forever
Who would have thought?
Rebecca: Hi, there! I’m half of the dynamic duo that makes up She Shares Ministries, a women’s ministry online, on the air, and in person for women who want relationships that eschew gossip.
Sarah: Big word, eschew.
Rebecca: Yeah, I liked it. Anyway, I’m a caffeinated couponer with a Nordstrom addiction who can’t decorate. Allergic to crafts, camping, and cooking.
Sarah: She’s not joking. You should ask her sometime about her cooking fiascos!
Rebecca: Are you cutting in on my intro? (Yes, that’s how we work/talk/write! I talk, and she interrupts.)
Sarah: Ha! Very funny….Usually, I talk, and YOU interrupt.
Rebecca: I may resemble that comment. As I was saying…While I am allergic to crafts, camping, and cooking, I went to Africa last year, so I can break character when God texts me. Two rejoicing kiddos call me mom unless I am dancing in public. Wife to a funny, quiet guy who lets me steal his jokes. I tweet at @RebeccaRejoices because I like to pretend that I am still young, hip, and cutting edge.
OK, Sarah. Your turn.
Sarah: Sometimes, women need more than chocolate.
Rebecca: No, that can’t be true. Let’s not lie to the readers, now.
Sarah: Now who’s interrupting?
Rebecca: You caught me. Carry on…
Sarah: Sometimes, women need more than chocolate (yes, Rebecca, sometimes they do!). They need sweet words of inspiration as well and now that I am not a “mean girl” anymore (yep, you heard right!), I continually strive to bring comfort, encouragement, inspiration, and hope to my readers and my radio listeners. When I am not writing or on the radio, I am living the good life with my sweet husband and three beautiful daughters. And cooking. I should clarify—cooking food that isn’t burnt.
Rebecca: Well, if readers want more on my hot cooking tips (as in, ON FIRE—literally!), they can read about it, but our story is more than cooking. We tore our friendship apart through gossip, and God put it back together.
Sarah: Listen to our story here and read our story here. Then, join the cause! We are thrilled to have local Colorado connections in person, but we are expanding our in-person connections to other areas soon. In the meantime subscribe to our newsletter for up to the minute event and blog posts, and join the online conversations on Facebook or Twitter.
Love you girls, so glad you’re here!
Be sure to come back tomorrow – Rebecca and Sarah are bringing their beautiful charm and wit back to share about their writing experiences and how authoring their book opened up incredible doors of opportunities beyond the writing desk.
