Lego Star Wars Party Activities & Goodie Bag
This year we tried to combine our efforts for the party activities and goodie bag. Each child was given a bag when they came in that included a Jedi Training Card stapled to the front breaking down our time together.
Become a Jedi | Pick Your Character
Elijah wanted another costume party this year, but I couldn’t do that to all our guests. To accommodate, I found these amazing printable masks at The Star Wars Blog. Guests were able to tie them on with the attached yarn if they wanted to or just take them home. Simple and inexpensive alternative that made everyone happy.
Meet Your Master | Yoda Stick Puppet
You can read the DIY (and download the pattern) for this piece of the party here. The stick puppet was a great activity, especially for the girls who were invited, to get into the Lego Star Wars theme – and it was an awesome take-home too.
Lightsaber Training | with Balloon Lightsabers
Coolest Kid Birthday Parties had a lot of awesome ideas for Star Wars party games for older kids, but I was able to snag the balloon light saber/Jedi training idea for Elijah’s party (all five and under). I made lightsaber/swords out of long balloons prior to the party and included a balloon and string in the activity bag. Mom’s blew up the included balloon, attached the string, and then held their balloons in the air for the kids to swat at with their lightsabers. Think Piñata without the baseball bat and the candy. It was awesome.
Night Ops | Glow Stick Dance Party
One of the highlights of our Thanksgiving weekend was a glow stick dance party with all the Trevino cousins. I HAD to include it in Elijah’s party. Prior to the kids arriving I blocked out the windows in the basement with brown kraft paper and threw two glow sticks into each activity bag. Cue music, lights, and cracked glow sticks. So simple. So inexpensive. But I think this was the party favorite.
Rehydrate and Refuel | Pizza, Cake & Punch
My copycat Portillo’s Chopped Salad was a huge hit with the Mommas, and Auntie Jessie’s cake was just a hit all by itself. Delicious and beautiful and an amazing act of love from her. It tasted just as good as it looked.
Final Notes
At the bottom of the activity/goodie bag we placed a small bag of Lego brick candy as a thank you for coming. In addition to the activity bags and masks guests also took the balloon lightsabers and black balloons home to continue the fun.
