The Coffee Monologues | #03

There’s really nothing like a Starbucks out, except maybe a Starbucks in.

I’ve upped my coffee intake since starting that blogging class, and thank goodness to Costco, I’m drinking Starbucks holiday blend.

Love. Love Love.

The Coffee Monologues 03

So this blog class . . .

Has been amazing – and that’s a complete thought all by itself.

But it’s also caused my brain to vacillate between a complete state of mush, and 4,000 mph hyperactivity. It’s been an interesting balance, if you can call it that, trying to dial it up one moment, and slow it down the next. But I’m plugging along, reminding myself my best is what I have, and it is enough.

Twenty Pounds

I’m ounces away from hitting the 20 lb mark, and it almost seems too good to be true. Like the scale’s been secretly lying to me or something. What I’ll be most excited about is dropping a pants size. Forcing my stubborn self into clothing that was clearly not meant to be worn had a horrible way of adding to my stress level. #trueconfession #muffintop #embarrassing

31 Days

It appears that everyone who writes a blog is doing a 31 day series for the month of October except me, but I did sign up to be part of one (that counts right?!). We’re doing a 31 day de-cluttering-the-house challenge, and the boys and I have been absolutely rocking it.

We’ve also learned two very important things as a family:

  1. I am a much better organizer than I am a cleaner (the dust we are unearthing is nearing ridiculous) and . . .
  2. Elijah has inherited both my quirky love of organizing, and my dad’s love of keeping things. I can just see his very full, very tidy house now . . .

Coming Soon

One of the things I miss most from my days as a church creative director was the experience of creating and directing the holiday services. I’ve realized it’s not so much the drama or the special music – even though I miss those too – it’s more the heart preparation that came naturally as part of the creative process.

So I’m working on a devotional series for the month of December. I’m super excited for the personal prep work, and I am also so incredibly excited to share it with you. There will be more info coming in November, but I wanted to get the bug in your ear that it all shakes down December 1, and I really hope you’ll be here to join me.

Happy October

What’s new with you?
