The Coffee Monologues | #02
Have you gone to Starbucks for a Pumpkin Spice latte yet? No? You should. ASAP. Nothing says fall like a good Pumpkin Spice . . .
And also carmel candles, and honeycrisp apples, and cool blanket-bundling nights.
Can you tell I’m excited?
This is the season that starts what matters most for me.
Family outings, making memories, celebrating holidays. Looking inward, and outward, and centering my heart in preparation for Thanksgiving and Christmas. In my world, it all starts with fall, so I am breathing deep this season and all the memories and special plans it holds.
Fall feels so much like school.
I always get the itch to learn something new when the weather starts to cool. It’s almost like the new year before New Years for me, filled with reflection and reevaluation and a certain determinedness to make good on my goals.
Last year I took a blog design class. This year I started one on the business side of blogging. At twelve weeks long, it feels like a real-live semester (homework and all!), and I might be just a little giddy. #seriously
I’m so, so thankful for my family.
In the course of a month we’ve had two family weddings, one on each side, and we’ve been able to spend some really precious time with extended family we don’t normally get to see.
It reminded me how blessed I am. To not only belong to the tribe of people I was born into, but to belong to a tribe of people who adopted me as their own.
I really couldn’t ask for much more.
