We’ve had a lot of excitement over the past few weeks – more than I’ve been able to keep up with on the blog – so I’m devoting today’s post to some of the more exciting highlights . . .

While using his “Batman powers” Elijah took a hard fall to the shoulder on a concrete patio and fractured his clavicle. Fortunately, he didn’t need surgery. Unfortunately, he told us he lost said powers during the x-ray. Now we just have to keep him still while he’s in a sling for three more weeks (I’m told the Batman powers will return to him during his follow-up x-ray. Hoo-ray.).

It is completely ironic to me that the only picture I could find of Noah for this post was of him sleeping. Sleep is not his strong suit, but he never stands still for pictures so this is what I get. Noah’s favorite youtube video right now is the Cookie Monster Share it Maybe video (if you haven’t watched it – you MUST). He may refuse to point to his eyes and nose, but he can gobble pretend cookies like Cookie Monster on command any day . . . and it’s just so stinking cute.

Mike started his final fall semester at Oakton and I can hear the strains of Pomp and Circumstance growing louder in the distance. Five more classes to go and he’ll be donning a cap and gown for his AA degree! When you consider that he’s achieved this as an incredible husband and dad with nearly a 4.0 GPA . . . I could not be more proud.

If you are part of the grateful for a coffee break community on Facebook you know I recently joined Weight Watchers online. I’m not sure why it has taken me so long to jump back in (it really is the only way I effectively lose weight) but it’s working. And I’m thankful. Add to that the fact that all the skinny people have been leaving me to work out in peace and I’m a happy, happy woman.

Here’s to a new day of having fun, playing hard, and chasing dreams. Happy Thursday grateful for a coffee break readers!

I love what your son said about losing his powers! So sorry he got hurt- I know that’s scary. And congrats on starting WW!
I know! He totally cracks me up sometimes. Batman is part of his every day sometimes every minute vernacular!
