God brings death and God brings life, brings down to the grave and raises up. God brings poverty and God brings wealth; he lowers, he also lifts up. He puts poor people on their feet again; he rekindles burned-out lives with fresh hope, Restoring dignity and respect to their lives….
(excerpt from 1 Samuel 2:6-10 MSG)
It’s been a long couple of days but we have much to be thankful for . . . Good doctors, perfect timing, God’s hand in the unseen details of our lives.
My favorite phrase in the Scripture above is how God rekindles what is burned out with fresh hope. Over the past few days I have definitely felt a little burned out (trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in hospital chairs is a true rarity) but I have also been overwhelmed by the kind of hope that is only found as an extension of God’s hand.
There’s nothing like fresh hope.
