Remember when you go into the world to
keep your eyes and ears wide open.
And be kind. Love one another.
Take care of each other.
Tell the truth. Always do your best.
Listen to the big people and the little people.
Explore new paths and have fun.
Know that you are loved like crazy.
Give thanks for all your blessings.
Above all else, love and you will do
wonderful things in this world.-Rebecca Puig
On my best days I have the capacity to embrace life for all that it is. I am disciplined and determined to grasp the opportunities of my day. I give my all and keep perspective. I love my family so much sometimes it hurts. My heart is soft to understand the whispers of God and I allow myself the time to be moved by things of beauty. On exceptionally incredible days I also tend to wear makeup and fit into my skinny jeans.
But those are my best days.
On most days I am groggy until I can manage the first cup of coffee in the morning. I lose patience when my kids won’t eat. I tire easily from repeating the same simple instruction for the fifteenth time. I lose my temper and say things I don’t really mean. I forget to love and be loved, and sometimes I am more selfish than self-less. On these types of days I eat way too much chocolate and wear my pajamas for far too long.
Usually it’s a good nights’ sleep coupled with an honest un-harried prayer time that sets me on the trajectory towards one of my best days. Ironically those are the two things hardest to come by with little ones. I’m not proud of it, but my less-than-best-days are a too-often-reality.
Here’s the catch: I want too much out of life to be content with lots of less-than-best-days. It’s a challenge to make space for the things that really bring life to me when I look at the length of my to-do list and remember I have no idea what we’re having for dinner. But if I want my worst days to get better, and my better days to move towards best, it’s a challenge I have to accept and begin to excel at.
If I want to live my life with eyes wide and ears open, full of the pursuit of adventure, clothed in kindness and love and thanks, I have to decide to.
God help me make that choice in this moment, for this day, so I have the capacity to do the things You’ve called me to.

The ladies over at Love Feast Table have taken 365 inspiring thoughts written by people all over the world and sent them to 365 different bloggers to write a post based on the prompt they’ve received. All of the participating bloggers will be linking their posts at the Love Feast Table today. I’m so excited that I’ve been given the opportunity to be one of those bloggers!

Love this! Can’t wait to join mine up too! (Although mine is relatively simple). I also love these sentiments and know just how true it can be.
Thanks Samantha! Looking forward to reading yours!
What a great reminder…to decide to do it. It is a choice every day and it’s so hard when you have little ones to take the time. I also try and remember that it is just a season, and God is in that season, even when I am overwhelmed and not doing a very good job at it. He still meets me there. Lovely post.
Thanks for linking up!

Thanks Kristin. So excited to be part of the link up
.
Beautiful and honest writing!
Thanks Lani!
One of the best parts of this link party (as I continue to read the posts) is that we are all reaching for similar things it seems…to be present, to reach for more ~ to be ok with ourselves if we’ve stayed in our pj’s too long, to learn, to grow, to love.
But I love what you’ve added, “I’ve decided to.” There’s lots of power from starting there. And lots of grace too. Best wishes ~ Chris Ann
Thank you so much Chris Ann. Being part of the link party was such a blessing!
